ACL Cables PLC proud sponsors of 53rd Thurstan vs Isipathana Battle of Brothers Big Match

The annual Thurstan-Isipathana Big Match cricket encounter is a much looked forward to event in the schools sports calendar.

This year, Sri Lanka’s No. 1 cable company ACL Cables Company will lend its corporate strength as the main sponsor for the 53rd annual encounter between Thurstan and Isipathana to be held on the 26 and 27 February 2016 at the SSC Grounds.

The partnership agreement was signed in the presence of the principals from both Thurstan College and Isipathana College Colombo on 11 February 2016 at Thurstan College premises.

Champika Coomasaru, Group Finance Controller, ACL Cables PLC handed over the official sponsorship cheque during the event.

"Cricket is a game all Sri Lankans especially school children are extremely passionate about. As an innovative corporate entity we firmly believe in the need to support our youth through sports and the 53rd Thurstan-Isipathana Big Match is an ideal opportunity for ACL Cables to partner one of the best cricket encounters during the big match season. I wish both teams the best of luck,” said Champika Coomasaru, Group Finance Controller, ACL Cables PLC.

Adding colour to the sponsorship event was the much loved, Percy Abeysekara Sri Lanka’s one-man cheering squad. Abeysekara is also an employee at ACL Cables.

ACL Cables PLC, Sri Lanka's No.1 cable manufacturer recently completed another significant milestone with the installation of its fourth ‘ACL SAX’ 80mm² 33KV medium voltage covered conductor electricity transmission project.
